Caleb Logan Bratayley, a member of the popular YouTube family the Bratayleys, has died. He was 13.
The Bratayley family announced the news via Instagram on Oct. 2, with a photo of their son and one of his sisters. In the caption, they wrote, "Caleb Logan Bratayley passed away of natural causes. This has come as a shock to all of us. Words cannot describe how much we will miss him. His incredibly funny, loving and wonderful spirit made us all fall in love with him as a YouTuber, friend, brother and son."
They continued, "[we] ask that you bear with us while we deal with this tragedy as a family."
The family also shared a tribute video to Caleb on their YouTube channel, titled "Caleb, Gone But Never Forgotten" (you can watch it above).
Maker Studios, the Disney-owned digital media company that represented the Bratayley family, shared a statement on Instagram offering their condolences.
"We are heartbroken at the tragic loss of Caleb from Bratayley, a beloved member of the Maker family. Our love, support, thoughts, and prayers are with the Bratayley family," they wrote.
The Bratayleys released another video the day after they made the announcement about Caleb's death, and the 13-year-old is featured in the clip talking to his future self.
"It is with our deepest sorrow to report that the Instagram announcement was indeed true," reads a message left by the Bratayleys on YouTube. "In addition to our desire to give the Internet community the chance to begin the grieving process, we also wanted to post this video to show a healthy and happy Caleb doing what he loved. Thank you for all the love and support that everyone has shown our family. And we ask for continued love and support as we move through the grieving process."
