Cheryl Tweedy has insisted that she’s on good terms with Liam Payne, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her son, Bear.
The former couple raised eyebrows when it was revealed they were dating in 2016, remaining together for two years, during which time they welcomed a child.
However, despite what you might have read, Cheryl has revealed that “things are great” between herself and Liam, a year on from their split.
“I’m actually really happy that we can be the way we are,” she told The Sun. “We love and care about each other a lot and we share a child. It’s really important that we’re able to have a very healthy good relationship.”
Cheryl added: “We’re going to be in each other’s lives forever so we’ve got to figure it out and be grown-up about it.”
She also laughed off claims that a model in her Let Me music video was deliberately chosen because of his resemblance to Liam, noting: “Have you seen him? It looks nothing like [Liam]... he’s got a tattoo - that’s about all they’ve got in common.”
Earlier this year, proving that things between them are fine, Cheryl roped Liam in for a stunt on her BBC series The Greatest Dancer, getting him on FaceTime to talk to one of her acts.
Since their split, Cheryl has returned to the music scene, with new single Let Me as well as last year’s Love Made Me Do It.
Liam has also been in the headlines fairly regularly, largely thanks to his rumoured romances with supermodels Naomi Campbell and Stella Maxwell.
