Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known as Chespirito, was a well-rounded entertainer. The comedian, writer, actor and director passed away on Friday in Cancún, Mexico. He was known for creating and starring in hit shows like "El Chavo del Ocho" and "El Chapulín Colorado."

Chespirito = "Little Shakespeare"

Chespirito got his nickname from a theater director and friend who referred to him as "Little Shakespeare" which in Spanish is "Shakespearito."
Married Doña Florinda

Chespirito who played El Chavo on "El Chavo del Ocho" was married to Florinda Meza, who played Doña Florinda on the show.
Inspiring American Popular Culture
