An investigation has been launched after the body of a five-year-old girl was found in a sewage pipe just 20 metres from her home in northern France.
Authorities were alerted to the girl's disappearance around 5.30pm on Wednesday following a day of torrential rain.

A few hours later her body was discovered in a filled waste water sewage pipe, which French prosecutors said was about 20m from her home in Le Goberderie, Rumigny, ITV reported.
On Wednesday, La Gobarderie was hit by flash floods and a storm.
Police are said to be investigating whether the girl was dragged away by an unusually strong river flow.
A counselling unit has reportedly been set up at the child's school.
