The beef between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy is the story that has gripped the nation – but one confused celebrity was left believing a very different set of events had gone down.
Loose Women host Christine Lampard confessed during Wednesday’s show she initially thought the row involved her co-presenter Coleen Nolan.
What’s more, Christine was left believing the wrong version of events for more than three hours until the penny dropped, as the story – dubbed #WAGathaChristie – took over the internet.
She said: “I have to say yesterday, it took a slightly different turn for me. A friend sent it to me and I read it and said, ‘I can’t believe it, it’s extraordinary. We’re going to obviously be taking about it on Loose Women tomorrow’.
“I had this whole discussion about it, the whole time thinking it was Coleen Nolan! I did honestly. Then I realised there are clearly two Coleens.
“So anyway, it was a slightly different take for me for about three hours, then it all slightly made more sense as the day went on.”
Fellow panellist Jane Moore revealed that her husband had also mistaken Rooney for Nolan.
Coleen (that’s Rooney we’re now talking about, to be clear) has been at the centre of a media storm ever since she claimed that Rebekah’s Instagram account was responsible for a series of stories about her being leaked to The Sun.
Rebekah has vehemently denied the suggestion that she had anything to do with the leaks, and it has been reported she has cut short her Dubai holiday with husband Jamie, flying home in a bid to prove her innocence with the help of IT experts.
Meanwhile, Coleen’s camp has said that it is “irrefutable that the leaks came from one account, and one account only”.
Fellow WAG Danielle Lloyd also waded into the drama during an appearance on This Morning, claiming to have had “similar run-ins” with Rebekah.
Rebekah was quick to dismiss this, writing on Twitter that Danielle had made “false claims”, which she branded “utter bollocks”.
