Cleaning stubborn grease off oven doors has to be one of the worst household chores.
But one woman has shared a rather unusual life hack she claims removes tough stains in less than five minutes.
In a post on Mumsnet, user ‘WitteryTwittery’ recommended rubbing a dishwasher tablet on grimy surfaces.
She even posted a photo of her oven, showing it before and after cleaning, to prove the tip works.
“I just slightly dampened a dishwasher tablet and rubbed it quite hard over the glass and all the gross stuff just came off,” she explained.
“I think I’m going to leave it like that to show everyone who walks through my door, I’m so impressed with it.”
Dozens of other Mumset users replied to say the cleaning hack worked on their ovens, but a few were left less than impressed.
“I tried this and it made no difference whatsoever, the dishwasher tablet just crumbled in my hand,” one said.
Another added: “I now have a mess of crumbly dishwasher tablet over my oven door and floor.
“It has prompted me to make a note to call a local oven cleaning company though - so thanks anyway.”
