Condoleezza Rice certainly knows how to fill the Meghan McCain-sized void left on โ€œThe View.โ€

The former secretary of state offered controversial and right-leaning views on the Capitol riot and critical race theory as a guest co-host on the daytime talk show Wednesday.

Rice, a Republican, said during her appearance that the attack โ€œwas wrongโ€ and that the events that transpired on Jan. 6 caused her to cry โ€œfor the first time since I was the national security advisor on Sept. 11.โ€

But Rice, who teaches political science at Stanford University, qualified that itโ€™s time for lawmakers to โ€œmove onโ€ from the domestic threat to democracy that left five people dead.

Condoleezza Rice: January 6th was wrong, but itโ€™s time to move on.

Sunny Hostin: But the past will become prologue if we donโ€™t find out what happened before we move on.

Rice: We will, but the American people have other concerns.

โ€œWhat happened on Jan. 6 was wrong. I donโ€™t know how much more strongly I can say that what happened on Jan. 6 was wrong,โ€ she said. โ€œI also know that as a government and as a country, weโ€™ve got to be concerned about the things that are making life hard for Americans and hard for American families.โ€

She claimed that people in the United States were โ€œnow concernedโ€ with what she called โ€œkitchen table issuesโ€ like โ€œthe price of gasoline, inflation, [and] whatโ€™s happening to kids in schools.โ€

Sunny Hostin, a regular co-host of โ€œThe View,โ€ countered Riceโ€™s argument by saying that the โ€œpast will become prologue if we donโ€™t find out exactly what happened on Jan. 6.โ€

Hostin later doubled down on her stance pointing out that a recent poll found that an overwhelming majority of Republican voters have indicated theyโ€™d like to see former President Donald Trump โ€” who incited the riot โ€” run again in 2024.

Rice shot down Hostinโ€™s argument.

โ€œUnless I can see the questions that were in that poll, unless I can see the assumptions that were in that poll, Iโ€™m not going to take for granted that that poll is correct,โ€ Rice responded.

"I would love to move on," Officer Fanone told @brikeilarcnn in response to Condoleezza Rice claiming "itโ€™s time to move on" from the Capitol riot.

Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone โ€” who was brutally beaten during the attack โ€” responded to Riceโ€™s comments to CNN Thursday.

โ€œI would love to move on,โ€ he said. โ€œUntil thereโ€™s real accountability ... I will continue to bring attention to the events of Jan. 6 and how we got here.โ€

Rice also had an opinion on critical race theory โ€” an academic framework that examines how policies and the law perpetuate systemic racism โ€” and whether or not parents should have a say in it being taught in K-12 schools.

CRITICAL RACE THEORY TARGETED IN VA. GOV. RACE: A key debate in upcoming races has been how much of a voice parents should have in their childโ€™s school curriculum when it comes to subjects like sex education and critical race theory โ€” the co-hosts and @CondoleezzaRice discuss. pic.twitter.com/OCTUzY2XsY

โ€œI think parents ought to have a say,โ€ Rice said, even though the subject is typically taught in law and graduate schools, and K-12 teachers have largely insisted that they do not teach CRT.

โ€œOne of the worries that I have about the way that weโ€™re talking about race is that it either seems so big that somehow white people now have to feel guilty for everything that happened in the past โ€” I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s very productive โ€” or Black people have to feel disempowered by race,โ€ Rice said.

โ€œI would like Black kids to be completely empowered, to know that they are beautiful in their Blackness, but in order to do that I donโ€™t have to make white kids feel bad for being white,โ€ she added.

Riceโ€™s comments on CRT sparked a backlash on Twitter. Scroll down to read some of the responses.

I havenโ€™t watched Condoleezza Rice on @TheView but Iโ€™m sure she brought numerous examples of K-12 lesson plans, worksheets and assignments on CRT

If thereโ€™s 1 thing I know about Condoleezza, itโ€™s that sheโ€™d NEVER approve of a war against something if she didnโ€™t have any evidence

I see Condoleezza Rice is throwing around republican false narratives. Crt is NOT taught in k-12. Teaching real history does NOT make white kids feel bad. If Black kids, Spanish kids, and Asian kids can experience racism at a early, than white kids can learn about it.#TheView

So let me get this straight, Black kids already feel bad knowing that this country enslaved their ancestors and treat them as less than but Condoleezza Rice is worried about how white kids feel when teaching racial history??? #TheView

Condoleezza Riceโ€™s dedication to white comfort at all costs isโ€ฆsomething. #TheView

Wow. Did not expect Condoleezza Rice on #TheView to be a supporter of white fragility. pic.twitter.com/6mPny7Usx5

Condoleezza Rice is delusional as hell if she believes they not trying to hide what happened during slavery times....#TheView
