‘Coronation Street’ actor Jack P Shepherd has hit back at media reports claiming he was pictured having an argument with co-star Julia Goulding.
Jack, who plays David Platt in the ITV soap, joined his fellow cast members at the Inside Soap Awards earlier this week, where he was named Best Actor for his involvement in the show’s recent male rape storyline.
However, when pictures emerged appearing to show him in tense conversation with Julia - best known to ‘Corrie’ fans as Shona Ramsey - tabloid reports suggested the two had been involved in a falling out after the bash, which Jack has now dismissed as “bullshit”.
Jack tweeted, alongside the snoozing emoji: “Another day another bull shit story written about me.”
When fellow soap star Danny Miller enquired further, he clarified that he was referring to a story that he and Julia had “fallen out”, seemingly laughing off the story.
In recent times, Jack has been quick to use Twitter to dispel false stories about him in the press, blasting claims over the summer that he’d insulted TV personality Jane McDonald during a recent cast night out.
“I must sell a lot of papers,” he mused. “What a load of cock.”
Shortly after this, he responded to a detractor on Twitter, who had taken aim at his appearance in recent episodes of ‘Corrie’, specifically his hair.
Jack has played David Platt consistently since April 2000, joining the soap when he was just 12 years old.
Earlier this year, he was lauded by critics for his portrayal of David Platt in the soap’s male rape storyline, which garnered much attention in the media.
