Craig Revel Horwood has weighed in on the pressing issue of who should replace Len Goodman when he leaves ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ at the end of the current series.
Anton du Beke and Brendan Cole are believed to be in the running for the position, but if they were hoping Craig might give them his vote, they should probably look away now.
Rather than backing someone ‘Strictly’ fans are already familiar with, Craig is all for a newbie signing up.
He tells the Daily Star On Sunday: “It would be better to get someone brand new. The BBC haven’t decided yet and they’re not going to until we’ve finished this series, which I completely understand.
We have to admit, we think he’s got a point.
One potential candidate who would meet Craig’s criteria is Helen Richey, who judges the Australian version of the show.
Helen’s already a big name Down Under, thanks to her star turn on the Aussie panel, but she’s currently virtually unknown to viewers here in the UK.
Before all that is decided though, there’s the small matter of the 2016 series, and the current batch of celebs are currently busy practicing their moves ahead of next weekend’s live shows.
