Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared his thoughts on Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton’s rumoured romance.
However, despite being known on the Strictly panel for his often-barbed comments, Craig was actually full of praise for the pair.
Speaking to Australia’s TV Week, Craig admitted he was “surprised” to hear about the pair’s supposed relationship, noting: “Obviously they left it until later on [to go public]. I hope they live happily ever after.
“It will be another Strictly success story. I never call it the ‘Strictly curse’. I call it the ‘Strictly blessing’. People need to fall in love.”
Stacey and Kevin were the winning couple in last year’s Strictly final, with rumours circulating last week that the pair were now in a romantic relationship, following the documentarian’s split from her boyfriend of three years, Sam Tucknott.
Although she is yet to address the rumours about her and Kevin directly, she did publicly respond to Sam’s claims that she and her dance partner were an item with the comment: “Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story. I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read.”
Last year’s Strictly led to a number of romances blossoming, including between finalists Joe Sugg and Diane Buswell, as well as Giovanni Pernice and Ashley Roberts, who were not actually partnered together on the show.
Comedian Seann Walsh also made headlines when he was caught kissing his professional partner Katya Jones, despite both of them being in long-term relationships at the time.
