Crown Prince Of Dubai Hamdan Bid Mohammed Takes Tube Snap For Instagram

'Of course not as modern as our metro in Dubai, but it will get you there quicker than a car.'

The Crown Prince of Dubai on Monday chose a rather un-princely way to travel - he got on the London Underground.

Hamdan bin Mohammed uploaded a picture of himself to social media on Monday happily sitting on the tube next to a less excited looking Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Mohammed is the vice president and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Emir of Dubai.

Video taken by other commuters suggested the pair were travelling near Mile End, in Tower Hamlets, on Sunday.

It is not known what the pair are doing in London.

One commenter, writing in Arabic, suggested the picture showed the ruler’s “humility”.

According to a report in Al Arabiya English the social media snap has gone “viral” in the UAE where Sheikh Mohammed is said to be “more frequently seen driving around his emirate in a luxury white Mercedes G-Class”.

Sheikh Mohammed was said to have had a £10 billion fortune in 2013.
