Actor David Margulies, best known for his role as the Mayor of New York in "Ghostbusters" and "Ghostbusters II," has died, his agent Harry Abrams confirmed to CNN. He was 78.
Margulies was born in New York City on February 19, 1937. He appeared in numerous on and off Broadway shows, including "45 Seconds from Broadway," "The West Side Waltz" and "Wonderful Town." The veteran actor was also a memorable character on screen, appearing in "The Sopranos" and "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective," among countless other film and TV roles.
Margulies recently wrapped what would be his last role as Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel for the upcoming TV movie "Madoff."
