Denise Welch’s son looks set to follow in his mother’s soap footsteps by joining the cast of ‘Coronation Street’.
Louis Healy has reportedly auditioned for a role on the long-running ITV show, on which his mother played Rovers Return landlady Natalie Horrocks from 1997 to 2000.
The 15-year-old met with producers at the soap’s Manchester studios last Friday (22 July), and Denise is said to be thrilled at the prospect of him landing a role.
A source told The Sun: “Denise and Louis took a road trip up to Manchester in her Mini last week where he was seen by the show’s bosses for a new role.
“It’s still not a done deal. But Louis felt like he gave it his all and is crossing everything,” they added.
Louis’ father, Tim Healy, also had a role on ‘Corrie’, playing the father of barman Sean Tully, Paul Jones.
Showbiz runs in the Welch/Healy family, as Denise and Tim’s other son is 1975 frontman Matty.
Despite leaving the Street 16 years ago, former ‘Loose Woman’ Denise recently returned to soapland, popping up as Alison Slater in ‘EastEnders’ earlier this year.
She recently announced plans to pursue a career in America, hoping to land a role in a film or US TV series.
“In England most people see me as a tart with a heart, but here I start with a fresh slate,” she said last month.
