A mother has shared her trick for creating her own DIY baby wipes in less than five minutes.
Joy Ratima, from Melbourne, said she believes shop-bought wipes have a "huge list of chemicals in them".
Instead of buying them, the mum-of-three said the "best and cheapest" way is to make them yourself.
"I make my own baby wipes and I have had heaps of people ask me to show them how to make them the way I do," Ratima wrote on the video post on Facebook.
"Lots of people have asked the exact ingredients, it's a basic container, viva paper towels, coconut oil and Biologika [an Australian brand] body wash," Ratima added.
The simple process involves cutting a large roll of kitchen roll in half and squeeze each half into one of two 125ml clear plastic containers.
Ratima then makes a mixture of coconut oil and watered down body wash to pours into the containers with the kitchen roll.
She then slides out the cardboard holder in the middle of each kitchen roll section and demonstrates how sheets can be pulled out just like baby wipes.
Ratima's three-minute how-to video has been viewed more than one million times in seven days since being posted on 22 March 2016.
It has also been shared 17,000 times.
Dr Helen Webberley, dedicated GP for Oxford Online Pharmacy said Ratima’s
wipes are a “brilliant concept” and, in principle, because the wash used is organic, the ingredients should be safe for use on a baby’s skin but parents should be wary of experimenting with such concoctions.
"Baby wipes do contain a lot of chemicals and we don't know what effect these have on delicate skin," she told The Huffington Post UK.
"The wipes are also very bad for the environment, as many are not biodegradable.
"But I would be cautious about people using their own concoction of ingredients, and in fact, water is just as good at cleaning skin as anything else - as well as being chemical-free."
