For all the reprehensible things Donald Trump has been accused of, the Republican presidential nominee has sure spent a lot of time defending the size of his hands.
He’s so sensitive about them that he even mentioned the issue during a debate in March, after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a GOP primary challenger, made jokes about Trump’s hand size.
“Look at those hands, are they small hands?” Trump asked on the debate stage. “And [Rubio] referred to my hands: ‘If they’re small, something else must be small.’ I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee.”
It’s one thing to tease Trump about having small hands, but it’s another to prove he does.
However, The Hollywood Reporter has done just that. Editors have printed a life-size image of Trump’s hands, which they created based on a bronzed handprint hanging in the New York branch of Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
The handprint has been there since 1997, after artists from the museum made impressions of Trump for a wax figure. You can find a full-sized, printable version here.
Are Trump’s hands really that tiny? No ― at 7.25 inches long, they’re slightly smaller than average.
However, the majority of American men have larger hands, according to neuroscientist Justin Kiggins, who pointed to a chart from an Ergonomics Center of North Carolina report for proof.
Many people are posting photos to Twitter using the hashtag #trumpmyhand to show how they measure up to the candidate.
Editor’s note: Donald Trump is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
