‘EastEnders’ favourite Jack Derges is planning to bow out of the soap in the near future.
Jack arrived in Albert Square earlier this year, as mysterious builder Andy Flynn, and quickly made a big impression on viewers (and no, we’re not just talking about that time he came downstairs in a towel, though that definitely didn’t hurt).
However, despite being an instant hit with soap fans, his character has been revealed to be leaving Walford as Andy’s story arc reaches its climax, with Jack thought to be headed for a new role in London’s West End.
An ‘EastEnders’ spokesperson says: “The character of Andy was created for a specific storyline which is currently coming to the end. We wish Jack all the best for the future.”
Meanwhile, an insider tells The Mirror: “When Andy arrived in Walford viewers didn’t realise that he was hiding a dark secret but over the past few weeks it has become clear that his intentions towards Ronnie and her family are not what they seem.
But while Andy’s days in ‘EastEnders’ may be numbered, it seems he has no intention of going quietly, as he and Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) finally have the showdown we’ve all been waiting for.
