‘EastEnders’ has unveiled a brand new trailer revealing the explosive drama ahead in their Christmas episodes.
Viewers already know this year’s festivities revolve around the downfall of Max Branning, but the new promo shows how he will go head-to-head with Phil Mitchell and Ian Beale.
The dramatic advert shows Ian bloodied, Max going on the rampage in the Vic and fighting in the street, before Phil warns him “it is over”.
We also see the voicemail Jane Beale left for Stacey Fowler come to light, before Stacey - Max’s last remaining ally - completely loses it with him.
However, there could be redemption for Max, as he tearfully admits “there’s like a virus in his head that’s made him do all these things”.
Over the last few weeks, fans of the BBC soap have seen Max’s revenge plan against the people of Walford exposed to them.
However, he found himself outcast by his conspirators from Weyland and Co., leaving him to continue his vengeance for his wrongful imprisonment for Lucy Beale’s murder, alone.
Earlier this week, Jake Wood, who plays Max, promised viewers the best Christmas episodes in at least 12 years.
Speaking on ‘This Morning’, he said: “There’s stuff coming up next week - just incredible episodes from now until Christmas.
“We’ve got back this incredible storytelling team and the next couple weeks are crazy.
“The two episodes that go out, they’re the best I’ve read in my time on the show - and I’ve been there 12 years.”
The Christmas Day episode of ‘EastEnders’ airs at 9pm on BBC One.
