It’s that time of year again - Christmas in ‘EastEnders’! Break out the bubbly! Deck the halls with boughs and holly! Stick on that Mariah CD!
Oh wait, hold on.
We’ve just had a proper look at these pictures of Dot Branning, and it seems the festive spirit won’t be reaching the Walford veteran’s abode. Ah.
See what we mean? Oh, Dot.
It’s been a tough 12 months for the pensioner, beginning last year when the festive season ended with the surprise departure of her good friend, Fatboy.
Since then she’s had more than her fair share of tough times, including the news that the launderette will be closing down.
Later this month, Dot will find out the official closing date for the business is Christmas Eve and Patrick does his best to cheer her up by suggesting she throws a party there.
The next episodes will then see the children’s nativity take place, but Abi Branning grows concerned when she realises that Dot is missing the play on purpose.
Of course, there are still a number of weeks until Christmas and the residents of Albert Square could help turn things around for Dot… but we’re not holding out too much hope. This is Albert Square after all. *sobs indefinitely*
These ‘EastEnders’ scenes air from Monday 12 December. Catch up on the latest soap news and spoilers here.
