Easter this year will be celebrated on Sunday 1 April, having been preceded by the 40 days of Lent which began on 14 February.
The Christian celebration marks the death and subsequent resurrection of Jesus Christ in around 33AD, although the roots of the festival go much further back.
Easter is marked with all sorts of traditions around the world but British people will probably be most familiar with Easter eggs, bunnies, chicks and hot cross buns.
Across the Atlantic, traditions such as Easter parades have also become popular in the US.
