He may not have made it all the way as a competitor, but it seems Ed Balls is ready to steal the show at this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ final.
While all of this year’s competitors made a valiant effort on the dance floor, the true talking point of the series was watching the former Labour MP’s progress, particularly when he gave an enthusiastic Salsa performance to Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’.
Now, ahead of the live final this weekend, his professional partner Katya Jones has revealed that they’ll be back for one last go.
She tells the Daily Star: “We are coming back and we’ll be doing ‘Gangnam’. That’s become our trademark. Ed is quite excited about coming back.”
Katya’s husband, Neil, will be choreographing all of the routines this week, and he adds: “I want ‘Gangnam Style’ to be a big part of the final. That’s what the people want to see again.
If that wasn’t enough, you’ll seen be able to see Ed doing the routine in venues up and down the country, as he’s been confirmed as one of the stars taking part in the ‘Strictly’ live tour.
Just three couples remain in the running to take home the Glitterball trophy this year, following the departure of Claudia Fragapane in the semi-finals on Sunday (11 December).
Danny Mac, Ore Oduba and Louise Redknapp are all hoping they can succeed Jay McGuiness as the reigning ‘Strictly’ champ, while it will be Len Goodman’s final live show as a judge, though he will be appearing in the upcoming Christmas special.
And now, just because, shall we watch Ed Balls doing ‘Gangnam Style’ again?
Incredible.
