Emma Thompson always has the best stories when she appears on a chat show, but she topped all her previous tales during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The actor revealed that Prince William stabbed her in the nipple while she was receiving her damehood last year.
Emma told of how the Duke of Cambridge misjudged it when attempting to pin her honour to her blazer during the investiture.
Revealing she let out a yelp after William pricked her boob, Emma explained: “You get two badges. He had to pin it on and it’s a little bit of a nipple moment and you go, ‘Gosh, I wasn’t expecting that’.
“And I’m pretty low slung these days, so both times it hurt. I made a very loud and inappropriate noise in Buckingham Palace.”
Emma previously admitted she had attempted to sneak a kiss from Prince William during the ceremony, only for him to turn her down.
She recalled: “I said, ‘I can’t kiss you, can I?’ And he said, ‘No don’t’.”
Emma received her damehood for her services to drama, after being named in the Queen’s 2018 Birthday Honours list.
