For those trying to predict who will be designing Meghan Markle’s wedding dress, Erdem Moralioglu will have just jumped to the top of the list.
The creative director at Erdem, was heard dodging the question about dressing Meghan Markle for the royal wedding, during an interview on Radio 4′s Today Show, on Friday 16 March.
Presenter Nick Robinson asked the designer: “How should Meghan Markle celebrate love when she comes to choose a dress? Do you have a thought on how to capture something like that?” Erdem swiftly replied with “I suppose my focus has been the royal ballet” and promptly returned the conversation to the costumes he has been working on.
Robinson chuckled as he stated: “Well that is proof that it’s not only politicians who extremely dodge questions, if I may say so”.
Erdem wouldn’t be an unexpected choice for Markle as she previously told Vanity Fair she has been wearing the label “for years”.
Erdem’s latest autumn / winter 2018 collection was also bridal inspired, so there are lots of elements that could be worked into a wedding dress, although his veils may be a bit too avante-garde for a royal wedding.
If Erdem is selected, we would love for Markle to be seen in dresses inspired by the below:
Whether it is an untraditional soft warm pink with embellishment or even a dress with no sleeves but thick velvet camisole straps. We hope the royal dress is as striking as what Erdem usually designs.
