Fleabag Cast: Who’s Who In Series 2 – And Where You’ve Seen The Actors Before

The first episode of the new series is now on iPlayer.

It’s been three long years, but the wait is finally over – Fleabag series two is officially here.

Episode one of the new series hit the online streaming service on Monday, and will also air to a wider audience with a late-night slot on BBC One.

The action picks up a year on from where we left the characters at the end of series one (don’t worry, we’ve got you covered if you can’t quite remember what happened), but there are also some new faces joining the show, as Fleabag continues to awkwardly try to navigate her way through life.

Here’s a rundown of who’s who in the cast, and where you might have seen them all before...

Phoebe Waller Bridge as Fleabag

As well as starring in the lead role, Phoebe also wrote and created Fleabag, and has since gone on to find a whole new army of fans with her other massive TV creation, Killing Eve.

Prior to Fleabag, Phoebe appeared in The Iron Lady, Broadchurch, Bad Education and Crashing. After the success of the first series, she went on to appear in the films Goodbye Christopher Robin and voice the droid character L3-37 in Star Wars spin-off Solo.

Fiona Shaw

Fiona has joined the cast of Fleabag for the second series, but it isn’t the first time she has worked with Phoebe Waller Bridge, as she plays MI6 officer Carolyn Martens in Killing Eve.

The Irish star is arguably most famed for playing Aunt Petunia in the Harry Potter series, as well as for playing Marnie Stonebrook in True Blood and Miss Lomax in the 1990 hit series Three Men And A Little Lady. She is a five-time Olivier Award nominee and won the Best Actress Award in both 1990 and 1994.

Kristin Scott Thomas

Five-time Bafta and five-time Olivier Award nominee Kristin is also a new addition to the cast for series two, but as she doesn’t appear in episode one, we’re still the dark about who her character is.

Kristin is best known for playing Fiona in Four Weddings And A Funeral, for which she won a Bafta Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She’s also appeared in films including The English Patient, Gosford Park and Nowhere Boy, and won an Olivier Award for Best Actress for her role in the 2008 revival of The Seagull.

Andrew Scott as Priest

Andrew is another newcomer to Fleabag, playing a priest in the new series, whose path soon crosses with Phoebe’s character after an unexpected meeting.

He is best known to TV fans as baddie Jim Moriarty in the BBC’s Sherlock, but he has also appeared in a swathe of other TV shows, stage productions and films, including James Bond’s Spectre, Alice Through The Looking Glass and Pride, and was nominated for a 2018 Olivier Award for his leading role in Hamlet.

Olivia Colman as Godmother

While Olivia has been charming the pants off of everyone during awards season, we will now see her return to the role that casts her in a very different light, playing the deliciously wicked Godmother.

The Oscar-winning actress probably needs no introduction, but her other credits include The Favourite, Broadchurch, Peep Show, Skins, Twenty Twelve, and The Night Manager, to name but a few.

Bill Paterson as Dad

Bill reprises the role of Fleabag’s dad, and this series sees the pair’s already-fractured relationship suffering thanks to his romance with Godmother.

With an acting career spanning over 40 years, Bill is best known for playing the lead in BBC paranormal series Sea Of Souls and George Castle in Law & Order: UK, with other roles in the likes of Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and the recent Dad’s Army film.

Sian Clifford as Claire

Sian Clifford is back as Fleabag’s sister Claire in the new series.

In the series one finale, the pair’s relationship crumbled when Claire’s husband managed to turn her against Fleabag, and things aren’t any less complicated when the action resumes.

The role of Claire was Sian’s breakthrough, and she has since gone on to appear in ITV’s recent adaptation of Vanity Fair.

Brett Gelman as Martin

Martin is Claire’s sleazy husband, who for some reason, she remains loyal to. You’ll remember during the last series, he hit on Fleabag, before managing to turn his wife against her sister.

US actor Brett Gelman, who plays Martin, has appeared in a number of American series, including Stranger Things, Twin Peaks, Eagleheart, Another Period and Mad Men.

Jenny Rainsford as Boo

Boo is Fleabag’s deceased best friend, whose death has been hanging over our lead character. At the end of the last series, it was revealed Fleabag slept with Boo’s boyfriend, prompting her to cause a road accident that killed not only herself but two others.

Jenny Rainsford is reprising her role for the second series, appearing in further flashbacks.

Fleabag was Jenny’s biggest role to date when she first appeared in series one, and has since gone on to appear in Irish drama Finding Joy.

Hugh Skinner as Harry

Fleabag’s ex Harry is returning for series two, perhaps hinting there could be another chance at love for the former couple.

Since the first series of Fleabag, Hugh went on to have a starring role in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!, playing a young Harry – a role shared with Colin Firth.

His other credits include Poldark, W1A, The Windsors and The Romanoffs.

The first episode of Fleabag series two is available to stream on BBC Three now, and will air on BBC One at 10.35pm on Monday 4 March.
