Fortnite Battle Royale on mobile can now be played on your iPhone starting today.
Earlier this week Epic Games unveiled that Fortnite would be launching on iOS and Android this year with an invite-only test on iOS starting first.
Well that test is here and players who have signed up are already getting a chance to try out the game on their mobile devices.
To celebrate Epic Games has released a trailer video showing off mobile gameplay of Fortnite on an iPhone X. Incredibly, it looks like the game runs exactly the same way as it does on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Fortnite Battle Royal Mobile Download Instructions
1. Download Fortnite Battle Royale from the iTunes store here. You’ll need an iPhone 6S/SE or newer and iPad Mini 4 or newer iPad for it to run as well as having the latest version of iOS installed.
2. Sign up to the invite-only mobile event here. If you haven’t already you may be required to create an Epic Games account.
3. Nervously wait while Epic starts sending out waves of codes to those who have applied. Don’t worry if you don’t get a code straight away, Epic will be releasing codes in batches to reduce the strain on its servers.
4. Once you get the code via email redeem it and your Epic Games account will now allow you to play Fortnite on your phone. Simply open the app, login as normal and start playing...
What is Fortnite Battle Royale?
In what might be one of the shrewdest business decisions we’ve ever seen Fortnite’s developers Epic Games announced last year that it would be launching a free-to-play version of the game called Battle Royale.
Set in a huge map this version of the game puts 100 players against each other. The players then have to fight each other all the while contending with the fact that the map is shrinking.
To win the game you have to be the last person standing, either through hiding or by eliminating everyone else in your way.
