Four Paralympians ran the 1500m in a quicker time than the Olympian who won gold did.
Algeria’s Abdellatif Baka, who is visually impaired, won gold in the Paralympics race, finishing more than 1.7 seconds faster than Matthew Centrowitz, who came first in the 1500m Olympics.
“It wasn’t easy,” Baka said afterwards.
“I’ve been working one or two years non-stop and it’s been very, very hard for me.”
