Game Of Thrones fans have been left irked after spoilers from the show’s penultimate episode leaked online.

Many complained after stumbling across a minute-long preview of a scene from this week’s upcoming episode, which some have noted could hint at how the series ends.

The show is currently airing its eighth and final series, with fans on tenterhooks to discover who will end up on the iron throne in the final episode.

However, the vast majority are keen to avoid any description of spoilers until the remaining two episodes air, hence why this leak has proven to be a real sticking point among the GOT fandom.

First the producers reveal a spoiler and now the ending script has been leaked. Game of thrones what are you doing?!!!! Like I’m so pissed these producers basically baited out who’s gonna get the throne because it’s not like the night king is going to come and get it.

@GameOfThrones The budget of a small country, the cast of the century, and a Goliath of a network behind you and you still manage to botch the would be best tv show in history. That's some goddamn accomplishment in itself!! Ah and those ending leaks! What a shambles!!

This isn’t the first time parts of series eight have leaked, with details relating to three out of the first four episodes appearing online ahead of their debut in the US.

The entirety of the second episode appeared on Amazon Prime Video in Germany ahead of schedule, while spoilers about key deaths in the third and fourth instalment were also shared online ahead of broadcast.

David Nutter, who directed episodes one, two and four has addressed the matter admitting leaks have “grown out of proportion”.

In an interview with TheWrap, he said: “I don’t know what [HBO does] or how they do it, so that’s kind of out of my purview,” he said. “But as far as leaks are concerned, I think a lot of fans of the show might hear about leaks but they don’t try to find out what they are, because I think fans of the show don’t want to encounter them.

“I’ve never come across, as a casual internet person, a spoiler that I wasn’t trying to look to find. But leaks have grown out of proportion, I think.”

The show has also come in for some criticism from fans in the last few days over their lack of attention to detail, which saw an errant Starbucks cup made its way on screen during the most recent episode.

The show’s art director Hauke Richter later told Variety: “Things can get forgotten on set… it’s so blown out of proportion [because] it has not happened with Thrones so far.”

Making light of the gaffe, HBO also said in a statement: “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered a herbal tea.”
