Game Of Thrones: All The Best Reactions To Series 8 Episode 1

Massive spoilers ahead, obviously.

Regardless of the fact its premiere times are sort of all over the place, Game Of Thrones is the sort of event television that Twitter was made for.

Monday night’s episode (which first aired for die-hard fans in the wee small hours of Monday morning) didn’t disappoint, with reunions, sassy one-liners and, of course, two fire-breathing dragons.

Naturally, plenty of scenes sparked big reactions on social media, and the memes were rolling out in no time. Here are our favourite responses to some of the show’s best moments...

Cersei Lannister not getting her elephants proved to be unintentionally hilarious:

Her choice to then bed Euron Greyjoy was... well, a *choice*:

Cersei ; You're insolent, I've killed men for less

Euron; They were lesser men

But as this person pointed out, Cersei usually knows what she’s doing:

If you all think Cersei compromised herself in any way getting with Euron, y’all don’t recognize game. Calculated move. He does not understand he’s messing with a true killer. https://t.co/uJe1o3eZae

Ah, the things you have to do when you’re expecting a child after an incestuous relationship...

In Winterfell Sansa met Daenerys, her potential sister-in-law who is also her aunt. It did not go well:

“What do dragons even eat anyway?” - Sansa

“Whatever they want” - Daenerys

The tension is amazing. 😂😂#GameOfThrones pic.twitter.com/3gWYCJk4dh

This analysis of the situation is pretty spot-on:

As is this point about what it felt like:

Thankfully, Tyrion was there to point out Sansa is one of the smartest people left alive:

"Many underestimated you. Most of them are dead now" this sums up Sansa, people continually underestimate her and I love Tyrion even more for pointing that out, respect for her coming through, loved that scene 😌 #GamefThrones

sansa really called tyrion lannister a dumb bitch to his face she really is that girl

And people really enjoyed both her astute observations and her ex-husband’s words:

Arya stuck up for her sister too, which was genuinely lovely:

Daenerys and Jon made it clear that their previous hook-up was not a one-off. The dragons were not happy:

Of course, Jon and Dany could change their minds on their relationship status, given that they’re actually nephew and aunt.

This accurate representation of Bran made us chuckle:

In fact, there were loads of good Bran memes:

There were so many reunions and this was 100% all of us as Jon and Arya shared a hug:

— #ThronesYall (@ThronesYall) April 15, 2019

Which was followed by the understatement of the century from the youngest Stark sister:

Arya: once or twice.#GameofThrones#ThronesYall #DemThrones pic.twitter.com/wiiC7SOi8i

And a moment between her and Gendry. Could they get together?

Gendry is the only man good enough for Arya on this entire show.#GameofThrones

Someone really needs to check the age gap, though.

We were cheering for Sam as he told Jon that he’s technically a king and not a bastard:

Tormund provided some much-needed comic relief:

Before THE MOTHER OF ALL SCARES.

Forgive the expression, but we completely lost our shit when Lord Umber’s dead body started moving and talking:

That scene with Ned Umber was one of the most fucked up things I’ve ever seen in this show lol

— pro bowl mvp (@ryne_jones) April 15, 2019

Agreed... and we can’t wait for next week’s episode.
