This is not a drill, people – Gavin And Stacey is returning for a one-off Christmas special.
It’s been nine years since we last caught up with the gang and thanks to some secret writing sessions from Ruth Jones and James Corden, we’ll get to find out what they’ve been up to this December.
Ruth and James, who also play Nessa and Smithy in the hit sitcom, shared the news on Monday morning.
The talkshow host tweeted a picture of the hour-long episode’s script, writing: “Ruth Jones and I have been keeping this secret for a while... We’re excited to share it with you.
“See you on Christmas Day.”
In a joint statement, they added: “Over the last 10 years we’ve talked a lot about Gavin and Stacey – where they might be today and what their lives might look like.
“So, in secret, we took the plunge and wrote this one-hour special,” they said.
“We’ve loved revisiting Barry and Essex again, and bringing the characters back together has been a joy.
“We’re so excited to get the chance to work with our fabulous cast and crew once more and to give fans of the show a festive treat this Christmas. Thank you BBC for helping to make this happen.”
The whole of the main cast will return, with Matt Horne and Joanna Page back as the title couple, while Rob Brydon (Bryn), Melanie Walters (Gwyn), Larry Lamb (Mick) and Alison Steadman (Pam) will also reprise their roles.
Gavin And Stacey aired over three series, from 2007 to 2010, with the finale being watched by more than 10.2 million viewers.
