James Corden may be a superstar over in the US now, but that won’t stop him returning to Blighty to film another episode of ‘Gavin And Stacey’, if the chance arises.
The actor stopped playing the loveable Smithy back in 2010, but he’s now revealed that fans could see the show return at some point.
Speaking to the Daily Star, he admits: "I'd love to do another ‘Gavin And Stacey’ special. It's just finding the time. My favourite was the last Christmas special.
Since the show ended, James has reprised his role as the tracksuit-loving Essex lad on a handful of occasions.
For this weekend’s Sport Relief charity special, he’s done so once again, and in a skit that can be seen here on iPlayer, Smithy announces his plan to run as president of Fifa.
Back in February, James made a brief return to BBC Three for the channel’s final night, introducing an episode of the hit sitcom.
He said: “BBC Three has been a huge part of my life and career. It took a chance on me and Ruth Jones and this little show that we wrote. For that chance, I and so many other writers and directors will always be grateful.
“I wish BBC Three all the best of luck with your big move online. I can't wait to see what you'll be showing in the future.”
