A ‘Dancing On Ice’ spokesperson has responded to claims that Gemma Collins is close to quitting the show, just weeks into her training.
Over the weekend, it was reported that the ‘TOWIE’ star and queen of “memays” was on the verge of pulling out of the next series’, which isn’t due to hit our screens until January.
Tabloid reports suggested that after taking a tumble on the ice while training, The GC had decided that maybe the show wasn’t for her after all, though a representative has now insisted this is far from the case.
They told Digital Spy: “There is absolutely no truth to this story. Gemma is loving being on the show and we love having her.”
At this point in time, Gemma is a reality TV veteran, known for her debut on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’, short-lived stint in the ‘I’m A Celebrity’ jungle and meme-spawning time in the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house.
More recently, she made headlines with her appearance on ‘Celebrity Masterchef’, having already tried out diving on ‘Splash!’, searched for love on ‘Celebs Go Dating’ and even given a go at detoxing on ‘Sugar Free Farm’.
Gemma was the first celebrity confirmed for the new (admittedly, pretty impressive) line-up of ‘Dancing On Ice’, with fellow competitors including Richard Blackwood, Brian McFadden, James Jordan and Didi Conn, best known for her role as Frenchy in ‘Grease’.
The GC previously said of her involvement: “I don’t know how they’re going to lift me up... I am nervous. I really want to give it a go. I love the costumes. I love the fun factor!”
Earlier this year, the most recent series of ‘Dancing On Ice’ was won by former ‘X Factor’ star Jake Quickenden, who beat off stiff competition from ‘Corrie’ actress Brooke Vincent and rugby union player Max Evans.
