Anyone who follows Gemma Collins on Instagram will know already that she’s no stranger to a musical number or two, but now she’s set to make a bid for chart glory by teaming up with producer Naughty Boy.
The pair are collaborating on a track together, which Naughty Boy has predicted will be “one of the biggest songs of the year”.
Now, we know what you’re thinking – how on earth did The GC and Naughty Boy come to be working together in the first place?
Well, that unlikely relationship dates back to last month’s Brit Awards when the pair hit it off at the ceremony and ended up in a curry house together.
Since then, they have regularly popped up on one another’s Instagrams, but it seems they have also been secretly beavering away making music together.
In an interview with The Sun, Naughty Boy, who has worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Sam Smith and Cheryl in the past, claimed Gemma’s track is going to turn her into a “superstar”.
“She was born to sing, it’s just that she’s actually taken a different route with it,” Naughty Boy said.
“But I think Gemma is going to have one of the biggest songs of the year, I can say that with my hand on my heart.”
Of the track, Come Home, which is inspired by The GC’s on-off relationship with fellow TOWIE star James ‘Arg’ Argent, Naughty Boy said it was a “romantic song” that “makes a lot of sense of her whole life right now”.
The producer – real name Shahid Khan – also claimed to have had “instant synergy” with the former Dancing On Ice contestant when they met last month and she sang him part of Beyoncé’s song Running.
He said: “I was thinking, ’This girl can actually sing, she’s got a personality and she’s got a following. This is the new age superstar.
“I don’t consider Gemma a reality TV person, I consider her a superstar.”
On comparisons to Beyoncé, he added: “They are both definitely up there in terms of the glamour. I think people will be surprised when they hear Gemma’s voice.”
