The stars of Gogglebox have paid tribute to June Bernicoff following her death at the age of 82.
Gogglebox’s executive producer Tania Alexander confirmed that June died earlier this week following what she described as a short illness.
This week’s episode was dedicated to the former teacher, who left the show in 2017 following her husband Leon’s death.
At the end of last night’s episode, the show paid tribute to June with a title card that simply read: “In loving memory, June Bernicoff, 1937-2020.”
Many of the show’s stars - past and present - have also paid tribute.
Scarlett Moffatt - who originally found fame on the show before winning I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! - shared a snap of June and her husband Leon to Instagram Stories, writing: “You will be missed by all. Reunited with your true love. Sending love to your family and all that knew you and loved you.”
Other stars of the popular series also paid tribute June on Twitter...
June was one of the original stars of the Channel 4 show, appearing in a total of 10 series, alongside her late husband, Leon.
June ultimately decided not to return to Gogglebox following Leon’s death in December 2017, but noted it had been a “great adventure” to be a part of the show.
She later admitted she wasn’t watching as much television, as that had been something they enjoyed doing together.
After stepping down from the show, June published a book about her 60-year relationship titled Leon And June: Life Love And Laughter.
