Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan were joined by some unexpected visitors in the ‘Good Morning Britain’ studio on Monday (11 April), when a swarm of ants invaded the set.
As pair returned to work from their Easter break, they found that some crawlies had made themselves at home during their absence.
The pair were forced to explain to viewers what was going on when they became distracted by the ants while presenting a segment on the ITV breakfast show.
An unnerved Susanna halted proceedings telling viewers: "You know that feeling when you think things are crawling on your skin?"
“Well they are crawling, the place is infested with ants!” Piers responded.
“We actually have video evidence of our ants. Look! They’re everywhere!” he said, as the camera cut to a shot of the studio floor with the insects crawling around.
“Oh my days! One of those has just crawled up my leg,” Susanna told viewers. “They’re so many of them.”
Introducing chef Marco Pierre White, who was appearing as a guest, she added: “You wouldn’t see those in Marco Pierre White’s kitchen.”
She later posted on Twitter that he had given them some tips for getting rid of them.
"Ants in @gmb studio! Marco Pierre White suggests we dip them in chocolate & says white pepper will repel mice," she wrote.
Susanna recently played down accusations that she flirts with co-host Piers on the show, insisting they are just being ‘playful’.
