“America’s Got Talent” winner Grace VanderWaal appeared on the “Today” show Monday morning and performed her original song, “I Don’t Know My Name.”
Naturally, she sounded great, showing yet again why she definitely deserved to win the talent competition show.
During her appearance, the 12-year-old spoke about being “stuck in sixth” grade, since she’s home-schooled now.
“I can’t get it out of my mind. You know when you have a birthday, and you’re like, ‘I’m 9 — 10!’ The thing is, I don’t correct myself,” she said. “I’m just like, ‘Hi, I’m a sixth-grader!’”
As co-host Tamron Hall pointed out, though, she’s a so-called sixth grader “with a beautiful voice, a mean ukulele and a new album.”
Indeed.
VanderWaal’s debut EP, “Perfectly Imperfect,” comes out Dec. 2.
