'Great British Bake Off' Viewers Love Hawaiian Shirt Tribute To Jon

"If that's not friendship goals I don't know what is."

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the most recent episode of ‘Great British Bake Off’.

Tuesday night’s episode of ‘Great British Bake Off’ was the first without Jon Jenkins, following his elimination in last week’s show.

However, while the aspiring baker may be gone, he clearly wasn’t forgotten, as the remaining five contestants entered the tent with a very special tribute to him.

To show their former competitor was still very much in their minds, all five of them entered the tent sporting Hawaiian shirts, a nod to Jon’s attire of choice, which he even based one of his bakes around earlier in the series.

The stunt went down very well with the judges and presenters, particularly Noel Fielding, who compared their entrance to a “Beach Boys convention”.

It also won the remaining five bakers praise on social media, with many tweeting about it while they tuned into the episode...

After a tricky round for many of the contestants in Danish week, it was ultimately Manon Lagrève who was shown the door, while Ruby Bhogal was named the week’s Star Baker, for the first time this series.

Winning Star Baker was quite the turn-around for Ruby, who was left in tears after a disastrous time in the ‘Bake Off’ tent during last week’s Vegan-themed challenge.

However, some viewers were unconvinced with the judges’ decision to eliminate Manon, with many suggesting that others were more deserving of being given the axe.

Just two weeks remain in this year’s series, with Ruby taking on Briony Williams, Kim-Joy and Rahul Mandal in Tuesday night’s semi-final.

‘Great British Bake Off’ continues on Tuesday 23 October at 8.00pm on Channel 4.
