Gwyneth Paltrow has proven that you can be a multi-millionaire superstar... and still embarrass your kids.
The 46-year-old shared a selfie of herself and 14-year-old daughter Apple during a skiing trip, but failed to ask her teen before posting it to Instagram.
Apple shot back, commenting on the post: “Mom, we have discussed this. You may not post anything without my consent” – to which Paltrow replied: “You can’t even see your face!”
The mother-daughter exchange amused some of Paltrow’s parent followers, who could relate to the demands of their teens.
“This is hilarious because it’s exactly what my teenage daughter would say too,” one person wrote. “Love that you’re just like all of us mums.”
And another commented: “What a sweetie, and you’re right about the fact you can’t see her face so you are keeping her privacy.”
Others, however, felt that Paltrow shouldn’t have posted the photo having not asked permission, telling the celeb mum: “Ask your daughter before posting a picture of her next time.”
Seeing as the Instagram post has stayed up, our guess is that the photo hasn’t caused too much hassle in the family.
The embarrassing parent Instagram vibe reminds us of the time Mick Jagger earned himself the title of the best dorky dad commenter on Instagram.
The 76-year-old was spotted leaving cringe-worthy but hilarious comments on his 19-year-old son’s Instagram photos – such as “watch out for the water”, while his son was standing in the sea, and “cool pic” when his son was surrounded by a group of friends.
