Gwyneth Paltrow was one step ahead of the internet as she launched her new vibrator on Valentine’s Day.
The Hollywood star had the perfect meme to share before anyone else did, as the new Double-Sided Wand Vibrator went on sale at her lifestyle brand Goop.
Gwyneth shared a picture of herself at the 1999 Oscars with the vibrator photoshopped in place of the Academy Award she won for her role in Shakespeare In Love.
“Beat you to it...I know how to meme too, guys,” she wrote.
“Head to @goop to see what all the buzz is about.”
As the name suggests, the Double-Sided Wand Vibrator has two ends – one for external massage and the other for “targeted stimulation” with “eight different pulsating patterns with varying intensities”, and it mades some bold promises on the website.
A description reads: “We’d be lying if we said that using the vibrator gives us the sensation we thought it would. The truth is: It still shocks us. It packs way more power and delivers deeper pleasure than anything we’ve tried before. Although we may have dabbled in hyperbole once or twice, after you give this vibrator a whirl, you may accuse us of understatement.”
According to the website, it was also designed “to look like something you’d leave on your nightstand as a functional objet d’art, if that’s your thing”.
If you’re considering a late Valentine’s Day treat for yourself, the Double-Sided Wand Vibrator will set you back $95 (£68).
Earlier this year, one woman had a very different type of explosion with one of Gwyneth’s Goop products.
Londoner Jody Thompson made headlines after a vagina-scented candle from the actor’s range “exploded and emitted huge flames” in her living room.
