‘Hollyoaks’: Kieron Richardson Wins Praise For Emotional Three-Hander Episode

But will Ste Hay be able to kick his addiction?

‘Hollyoaks’ star Kieron Richardson has won praise from soap fans, following his performance in Tuesday (13 July) night’s first-look special.

The show was a three-hander - which is just fancy TV speak for one episode with only three people in - and showed Kieron’s character Ste Hay attempting to give up crystal meth by going cold turkey.

Stay strong Ste, you've got so much to fight for... #Hollyoakshttps://t.co/gTNbi1ybzA

In the half-hour long episode, which can be seen again tonight on Channel 4, Ste struggled as his boyfriend Harry Thompson and Harry’s dad Tony did their best to help him through.

In one of the most emotionally-charged scenes, Ste - spurred on by desperation to feed his habit - attacked Harry, which brought back memories of the violence he put his ex Amy Barnes through.

Following the episode, a number of fans took to Twitter to praise Kieron:

@Hollyoaks You have a tremendous actor in Kieron, his performance recently has been outstanding. I hope he gets the recognition he deserves

Ste’s ex Amy is set to return to the village in the coming months, and she’ll have a new boyfriend in tow, played by none other than Blue’s Duncan James.

Sadly, Duncan’s soap career got off to a difficult start, and he was forced to delay filming his debut scenes on two occasions, due to health issues.
