Ian Wright has been accused of ”bullying” fellow campmate Andrew Maxwell by I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers after a disagreement about the washing up.
The former footballer was left unimpressed when the comedian went for an afternoon nap after he won 10 stars in the Ark Of Agony Bushtucker Trial.
Andrew and Caitlyn Jenner are responsible for washing up in the camp, but after the campmates had finished their lunch, he told the US reality star: “We’ll do this later rather than do it in the heat of the day.”
Caitlyn told him: “Just go take a nap, you earned it.” But this riled Ian, who quipped: “It’s amazing some people are just not cut out for success. Don’t go and rest just kick on and do your job.”
Later in the Bush Telegraph Ian explained: “OK so you’ve got the 10 stars what are you coming back and going to sleep for, you’ve got a 70-year-old woman who is ready to work and you are meant to be working with her, do it with her and then rest.”
Ian told his fellow celebrities that he was “having to hold myself in now”, adding: “I don’t know how I’m going to let this lie”, before confronting Andrew.
“James went to help with the dishes and what I’m saying is that because you got the stars, Caitlyn wanted to do [the washing up] and you went to sleep and you didn’t do your job,” Ian told Andrew. “We have so much time to sleep. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
But Ian’s attitude towards Andrew did not go down well with many viewers, who accused him of being a bully.
Earlier in the episode, Ian was seen speaking to a photograph of his wife. The sports star said: “It’s just so good to see the picture my wife sent, it brought back some magnificent memories.”
I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV at 9pm tonight.
