Detectives investigating the firing of a gun outside an east London mosque have charged a man.
Scotland Yard said Jermaine Wright, 28, was charged on Thursday with possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and two charges of assaulting a police officer.
It follows the incident at the Seven Kings Mosque on High Road, Ilford, on May 9.
Wright, of Tottenham, north London, will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, and detectives from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command continue to investigate.
