Signing up to be a contestant on this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ could have cost Scarlett Moffatt her place on ‘Gogglebox’.
The star has abandoned her role on the current series of the Channel 4 show to enter the jungle, and bosses have now hinted she may not be returning.
A Channel 4 spokesperson told The Sun: “Scarlett Moffatt is going in to ‘I’m A Celebrity’ and will no longer participate in this series of ‘Gogglebox’.
Scarlett joined ‘Gogglebox’ in 2014 alongside her parents Betty and Mark, with the trio having been joined by her sister Ava-Grace and her boyfriend Luke in recent episodes.
It would not be the first time producers had thrown a star off ‘Gogglebox’ for appearing on a reality show, as George Gilbey and his family were axed when he entered the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ house in 2014.
While bosses said it “wouldn’t work” to have George back on the show after appearing on Channel 5, the family were later invited to return earlier this year.
Scarlett was one of 10 celebrities announced for the next series of ‘I’m A Celebrity’ on Tuesday (8 November), with other stars taking part including Carol Vorderman, Larry Lamb and Ola Jordan.
‘I’m A Celebrity’ launches on Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
