Not even the ‘I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!’ final could topple ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in the ratings on Sunday (4 December) night, after it waltzed off with the most viewers
The BBC ballroom competition beat the last episode of the ITV reality series by over 200,000, as viewers saw Judge Rinder eliminated after landing in the bottom two with Ore Oduba.
The ‘Strictly’ results show was the most watched TV show of the day, with an average audience of 10.7 million between 7.15pm and 8pm, and a peak figure of 11.7m.
Meanwhile, an average of 10.5m saw Scarlett Moffatt win ‘I’m A Celebrity’, as the final aired between 9pm and 10.35pm, with a peak of 11.4m.
It’s not all bad news for ‘I’m A Celebrity’ though as the figure was up by 800k viewers on last year’s final, where 9.7m saw Vicky Pattison crowned Queen Of The Jungle.
It was also the most-watched final since 2013, when Kian Egan won.
‘The X Factor’ was over four million viewers behind its rivals on Sunday night, as the semi-final results show pulled in an average of just 6.3m from 8pm.
The figure was down 400,000 on last year’s equivalent show, and two million on 2014.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues with its semi final on Saturday at 6.50pm on BBC One, while ‘The X Factor’ final begins on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
