Victoria Derbyshire has revealed she was secretly in contact with Jordan North before they both entered the castle on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.
The BBC journalist has shared an exchange she had with the Radio 1 presenter, who she knew prior to them appearing on the ITV reality show together.
Jordan used to work behind the scenes on Victoria’s BBC Radio 5 Live show, revealing on I’m A Celebrity that he used to make her tea.
And prior to entering the Welsh castle, they were messaging each other trying to work out if the other was taking part.
Sharing their messages on Instagram, Victoria wrote: “Ha just remembered this - @jordannorth1 and me in quarantine in separate places in Wales skirting around the fact that we were both doing @imacelebrity.”
In the screenshot of their chat, she wrote to Jordan: “Oh my god are u doing I’m a celeb?!?!?!?!!!”
Jordan replied: “Are you!? Is it true? Xx”
Victoria responded: “Can’t confirm or deny - same for you?!?!” to which Jordan said: “Haha yep.”
The newsreader then wrote: “I bet we’re even near each other RIGHT NOW!!! It’s gonna be the biggest laugh EVER.”
“100%,” Jordan added.
Victoria ended up finishing in ninth place on this year’s I’m A Celebrity, which concluded last week.
Jordan reached the final, but was beaten to the title of King Or Queen Of The Castle by eventual winner Giovanna Fletcher.
