John Bishop Shares Promising Health Update After Saying He'd Been 'Flattened' By Covid-19

The comedian and his wife Melanie found out they had contracted coronavirus on Christmas Day.

Comedian John Bishop has shared a reassuring update after revealing that he and his wife Melanie had tested positive for Covid-19.

Earlier this week, John said he and Melanie had been “flattened” by the virus, tweeting that it was the “worst illness that I have ever had”.

On Thursday evening, the A League Of Their Own star thanked fans for their support since speaking out about his illness, and revealed that he and Melanie were getting better, albeit slowly.

“Thank you for all the messages of support regarding my recent positive Covid test,” he said. “I have been overwhelmed and moved by the amount of messages privately and publicly.”

A day earlier John shared a screenshot of his positive coronavirus test result, writing: “This came through on Christmas Day.

“This is the worst illness I have ever had, debilitating headaches, muscle joint and even skin pain, dizziness, nausea, no appetite, incredibly chronic fatigue... I don’t wish this on anyone.”

John has been married to Melanie since 1993 and they have three sons.

He isn’t the only public figure to share his unpleasant experiences of Covid-19.

Former model Linda Lusardi said over the summer that she was still feeling the effects of the disease long after being hospitalised, while Hugh Grant shared his own Covid story during an interview on US television last month.

Just before Christmas, reality star Kerry Katona also said that she had contracted Covid-19, saying she had “never felt so poorly” in her life.
