Jordan North has been crowned the most terrified I’m A Celebrity contestant ever after confronting his fear of snakes in the show’s latest trial.
The Radio 1 DJ and EastEnders star Shane Richie tackled The Viper Vault challenge on Monday’s episode of the ITV show, which saw them locked inside vaults built into the floor of the Welsh castle hosting this year’s series.
Inside each vault were five locked safes, each containing a star that would earn a meal for camp.
But a very pale-looking Jordan, who vomited before tackling a cliff abseil in the first show, almost didn’t go through with the challenge, admitting snakes were his biggest fear.
“I’ve never been this scared in my life,” he told hosts Ant and Dec.
After much persuading from Shane, Jordan eventually decided to go ahead with the challenge and once inside the vault he had viewers – and a certain Radio 1 colleague – in hysterics as he repeatedly screamed about his “happy place” as he tried to get through the trial.
After nabbing nine stars, a relieved Jordan said: “My brother said to me…” only for Shane to cut in and say: “Why didn’t you do Strictly Come Dancing?”
Jordan added: “That is the most terrifying thing I’ve ever done in my life… ever.”
Unfortunately for Jordan, the public have voted for him to take part in Tuesday night’s Frights Of The Round Table eating trial alongside Vernon Kay and Beverley Callard.
Let’s hope he’s got the stomach for it.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues on ITV at 9pm tonight.
