Juan Guaido Declares Himself Interim President Of Venezuela

Following days of clashes between protesters and police in the capital Caracas, opposition leader Juan Guaido swore himself in as interim president. Incumbent President Nicolas Maduro, who has the backing of Russia and Turkey, was inaugurated on 10 January after an election largely viewed as a sham.
