Favourite Judith Kerr Books Shared After The Much-Loved Author Dies Age 95

What's yours?

The author, who published over 30 books in her 50-year career, was best known for The Tiger Who Came To Tea, but she had many other successful books such as the Mog series and When Hitler Stole The Pink Rabbit.

Fans are sharing their favourite books on Twitter, both those they read as kids and those they enjoy sharing with their own children.

I doubt there is a more perfect children’s book then The Tiger who came to Tea. It was a huge part of my children’s life and I loved reading it for them. RIP #JudithKerr

Am sure I'm not alone in this, but I grew up with the firm belief that #thetigerwhocametotea had been written for me, a little girl called Sophie. The kitchen was just like ours, the mum was just like mine and the high street was just like the high street nearest my house. 💔 pic.twitter.com/RH6N27wLKr

So sad to hear Judith Kerr has died. I still can’t look at Goodbye Mog without welling up. pic.twitter.com/teaFxxQMyx

Lovely Judith Kerr. My 1974 copy of my favourite childhood book. Read her stories as a child and read her stories to my children. Very sad to hear she has died. https://t.co/zshouJZj2J pic.twitter.com/bPy0q7oDUQ

I was lucky enough to host last year’s #nibbies and watch #JudithKerr *run* up the stairs to an instant standing ovation. What an extraordinary lady. Thanks for the many happy hours I’ve spent with Mog and many more, as a kid and with my own children too. https://t.co/neCY5gZbbX

RIP Judith Kerr, the Mog books were my favourite at Nursery, I think picture books stay with us in a way no others do, mainly because they are the first books we love. pic.twitter.com/Z5HtLhpp9J

My favourite book as a child was When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit. My children’s favourite books are Mog and The Tiger Who Came To Tea. Judith Kerr taught whole families how to love books

Rest in peace, Judith Kerr.
Please give Mog a stroke and boiled egg from all of us. 😿 pic.twitter.com/wBrSMH3E8R

- The Tiger Who Came to Tea
- Six Dinner Sid

So sad to hear that Judith Kerr has died. “The Tiger who came to Tea” and “Mog and the Baby” were two of my daughter’s favourite books as a child.

The Tiger Who Came To Tea all day every day. Just such a lovely book to be read as a child and then to pass on to the next generation.

Team Groves are a Mog family, but I'll always always love When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, such an amazing account of childhood, moving home and countries, and learning to live in a new language – as Judith Kerr did twice over – thank goodness for all of us. https://t.co/bMip6ZSeAD
