Let it be known that we totally called it: Kate Middleton wore tartan on her trip to Scotland.
Not that it was a tough one to predict, seeing as the Duchess of Cambridge has a penchant for theme-dressing (see here and here). Kate and Prince William made a visit to Glasgow on Thursday, beginning their two-day Scotland trip at Emirates Arena. The stadium is one of the venues for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the largest sporting event in Scotland.
Kate and Will giggled as they were greeted by the big green mascot for the Commonwealth Games, Clyde Thistle. They also met with young athletes, who showed off for the royals, and will be taking in some netball and badminton demonstrations later in the day.
But back to what Kate was wearing: tartan! The pregnant duchess looked lovely in a blue and gray plaid coat by Moloh that flared out at the waist and featured a rather short hemline (a trend, perhaps?). She paired the busy topper with a black dress, black tights and tall black boots by Aquatalia by Marvin K.
