Katie Price has checked into rehab, her mum Amy has confirmed.
Her family urged the troubled star to get help after a video emerged of her partying in Majorca earlier this month.
The news comes after weeks of reports about the star’s financial woes and the breakdown of her third marriage to Kieran Hayler.
According to The Sun Katie is suffering from PTSD and is set to begin 28 days in rehab on Monday (24 September).
PTSD is a form of acute anxiety and is often diagnosed in ex-forces personnel but is increasingly being seen in civilians. Symptoms include insomnia, irritability, traumatic flashbacks and nightmares.
Amy told the newspaper: “No parent wants to see their child crumble. It’s unbearable.
“Kate has been her own worst enemy and behaved like an idiot at times but she has been tearing herself apart for years.”
Amy, who is suffering from a terminal lung condition, also took aim at her daughter’s three ex-husbands - Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler.
“All the men in her life have used Katie, and never, ever leave her alone,” she said.
“And nearly all have been with her to raise their profile.
“Kieran almost destroyed Kate with his behaviour, Alex has been as bad, and Pete likes to portray himself as perfect.
“They all know that Kate is not perfect and they all know that if they wind her up she will react.
“Kate is stupid for reacting, but these men need to look at how they are behaving and take some responsibility.”
She added: “She is constantly judged on her kids, her home, work, financial situation, the way she looks, how she dresses and what she does.
“No person can take this kind of pressure and not succumb to it.
“Of course she has put herself in the public eye but she has been dealing with endless attack as well as my illness.”
Amy said she was “relieved” Katie was seeking help for her “erratic behaviour”, adding: “Rehab is a commitment she has made to herself, so I hope others allow her the breathing space to do this, and to heal herself.”
It’s been a troublesome year for Katie. Last month she avoided bankruptcy following a court hearing after her legal team submitted an application for an individual voluntary agreement (IVA) which will see her pay back creditors in installments.
And in July she revealed she reported herself to police after driving to a hospital appointment for her son Harvey while still being banned from the road.
