Kevin Hart’s wife has said her husband is “going to be just fine” after he was in a car accident over the weekend.
The US comedian, 40, was reported to have suffered “major back injuries” after a car he was travelling in fell down an embankment on a California road on Sunday.
His wife Eniko Hart has now told TMZ the star is awake and doing well.
Asked about his condition, she replied: “He’s great. He’s going to be just fine.”
“He’s good,” she added. “Everybody’s good, thank God.”
Asked by TMZ whether Kevin was awake, she said: “He’s fine. He is awake.”
David Beckham is just one of Kevin’s famous friends who have sent their well wishes amid his recovery.
Posting a picture of them together, David wrote: “Hey man this is why we were built for challenges like this… Stay strong good luck with the recovery.”
Justin Bieber tweeted a message of support, writing: “@KevinHart4real love you man.”
Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman posted a picture of him and Kevin together and wrote: “Praying for your recovery brother. God bless you and your family. You got this.”
Nicole Kidman, who starred alongside Kevin in drama The Upside, posted on Instagram: “Sending love and prayers to you Kevin.”
Their co-star Bryan Cranston wrote: “I’ve just heard that @kevinhart4real was injured today in a car accident in Los Angeles. Let’s all send him positive energy and healing thoughts. He’s a good human. Get well soon, brother. B.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson previously sent Kevin a touching message following reports of the accident.
The pair have a long-standing friendship after starring alongside one another in numerous films including Jumanji and Central Intelligence.
Alongside a photograph of the pair from Jumanji, The Rock wrote: “Stop messing with my emotions brother @kevinhart4real. We have a lot more laughing to do together.
“Love you man. Stay strong,” he added.
According to a California Highway Patrol collision report, cited by Associated Press, Kevin was a passenger in the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which is said to have gotten out of control as it turned from a canyon road on to the highway.
The driver, 28-year-old Jared Black is also reported to have suffered back injuries, while another passenger, 31-year-old Rebecca Broxterman, only complained of pain.
The driver of the car was not under the influence of alcohol, according to the report.
